Here are some of my side projects. I create and maintain these little places on the Internet to practice what I know about PHP/MySQL, front-end development, data science, and the principles of product-mediated behavior change.
twords: becoming a better writer.
twords is a tool to help writers write more. Registered users can set daily writing goals, track how much they accomplish, and ask their buddies to help out. As an added bonus, I give them reports on their habits and implement little tricks here and there to help them smoothly adopt a regular writing routine. Find out more.

Bloom! Tracking my skills.
I’m really inspired by the Quantified Self movement, and to give myself a starter toolbox for self-tracking, I built Bloom! Thanks to this little tool I can track what I work on each day, and as time goes on, the data gets visualized by a colorful, blooming set of developing skills. Want to see how I grow? Check it out.

A Quotebot to help shy clients
This was my very first PHP project. It’s not uncommon for me to hear that a potential client doesn’t quite know where to begin budgeting for a design project, and has no idea what the range of estimates would be. In order to facilitate the process, I built a simple quote estimator (or, as I lovingly call it, a Quotebot). Potential clients can anonymously play with different options to see if their budgets are within the appropriate range. Go on, play a little!

An old-school tool to make meetings better
Want to take notes more efficiently? I designed a simple note template to help you focus on ideation and action items. Go ahead, print it out, and have a good meeting.
