Infographic: Education, Income, and Occupation in the U.S. (2010)

The following infographic was created in 2010 based on US Census data estimates (at the time of creation, the 2010 Census data had not been released). The graphic examines differences in education and income levels achieved, as well as differences in occupation, between groups stratified by U.S. citizenship status.

The site was originally built with a hard-to-use Flash slider that made a noise any time the images changed, which really annoyed the site owner and visitors. Worse, though, was that the Flash slider did… [Continue Reading]

My favorite little improvements all came from talking to Joe and the kind friends who send me suggestions. I solve their problems, I get a boost of happiness. Easy…. [Continue Reading]

    Twords: becoming a better writer

    Towards new skills, new ventures

Three weeks ago I began learning PHP/MySQL, and to keep it interesting I started developing a writing productivity tool for someone very close to me. And so far it’s been the most fulfilling thing I’ve done in years. I’m letting it grow and evolve into something that helps people develop better habits. I call it twords:… [Continue Reading]

I’m inspired by the Quantified Self movement and truly believe that self-tracking is a key habit, one that necessarily leads to positive behavior change and overall well-being. For the last few months, I’ve been looking for a starter self-tracking project that… [Continue Reading]
