Testimonial from HouseofBoutiques.com

What problems did I help you solve?

Anna has been working with us consistently to help us build our brand for a variety of projects. From client-relation brochures and handbooks to graphics for our social media followers and email clients. Her design work has always helped enhance our brand beyond what we can do on our own and gives our customers something interesting to click, like, and shop.

Have you worked with other designers before?

I have worked with other designers, and what I like most about working with Anna is her calm energy, creativity (of course), and willingness to vocalize her approval or concerns to better the end result. She is also prompt and understands that as a business, deadlines are crucial. Many in her industry that I’ve worked with are not as comfortable with this urgency.

What was memorable about your experience?

The end result! It’s exciting being able to share great work and great content with our clients and customers.

How to get a free logo from a designer

The post below is my answer to “What are some good ways to get a free logo design?” on Quora. Note that I am in no way advocate for asking for free work, and generally consider it an insult. After joining everyone else in shaking my fists with fury, I’m not going to add to… [Continue Reading]

Twords: becoming a better writer

Towards new skills, new ventures

Three weeks ago I began learning PHP/MySQL, and to keep it interesting I started developing a writing productivity tool for someone very close to me. And so far it’s been the most fulfilling thing I’ve done in years. I’m letting it grow and evolve into something that helps people develop better habits. I call it twords:… [Continue Reading]

How I work: designing a cover for Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina

Not too long ago, Aleks Jakulin of publishing startup Ganxy alerted me of a really great initiative. Recovering the Classics is a project organized by The Creative Action Network to crowdsource fresh new looks for beloved books (Zing! You guys need a new slogan?), in order to reignite interest in classic literature. Obviously, I signed up… [Continue Reading]

Hi I’m Anna and I take Bauhaus for granted.

I really do. A couple of weeks ago, our studio’s co-creative director sent us junior designers to the National Gallery of Art. Our mission was to check out the Bauhaus in print exhibit and report back (aka avoid being bored to death on a slow rainy day in the studio). I really wanted to come… [Continue Reading]

Tunes for the heart.

I created these save the dates for good friends who wanted to combine a bit of whimsy with their  Irish and Russian roots, as well as their love for awesome love song mixes. There’s more! Check out the bachelorette party invites, and the final invite and day-of stationary!
