What problems did I help you solve?

Incomplete, out-of-date and low functionality website. So far, the results are increased functionality, up-to-date behind the scene stability and flow, and a much improved look.

Have you worked with other designers before?

Yes and working with you has been a breath of fresh air. I am much better informed as to the ins/outs of what goes into making a website productive and useful – so much more than just it being aesthetically pleasing. The former designer did little if anything to keep the site up-to-date (plugins/etc) and kept so much of the information to himself, which made me uncomfortably dependent upon him. Additionally, his response time was slow and  typically required correcting and undue explaining – whereas you keep me in the loop and well informed and your response time is excellent. I don’t need to revisit much with you – your intuition and skill level is excellent.

What was memorable about your experience?

I felt important, respected and very well attended. It is clear to me that your efforts toward and desire in providing a high quality product was always so much more than simply earning a dollar – you clearly enjoy what you do, do it well, and like pleasing your customers.

Infographic: Global migration trends, a work in 3D (2010)

In 2010, I was part of Sticks + Stones, an international design collaboration between universities in the United States, China, Germany, and Turkey. We put together an exhibit in Berlin that invited visitors to contemplate the roles of stereotyping, migration, and immigration in their lives. One of the projects I contributed is a 3D infographic… [Continue Reading]
